Portal Rescue has two assistive listening technologies available for meeting organizers to setup for their meeting attendees.

  1. A hearing loop has been installed for hearing aids equipped with telecoil (AKA tcoil).  Telecoil receivers have also been acquired by community members for use by those that don't have telecoil equiped hearing aids.  You can find more information on hearing loops and telecoils here.

  2. An Auracast transmitter and one receiver have also been acquired for use in the Portal Rescue classroom.  Auracast is a relatively new "one to many" broadcast technology.  Additional receivers can be acquired if there is positive feedback from the community on its performance.  In time, hearing aids, headphones, and mobile phones will be compatible with this technology.  Devices that support Bluetooth version 5.2 and above may already be capable of joining an Auracast broadcast.  You can find more information on Auracast here.
